ISLAMABAD – The federal government is expected to revise the petrol and diesel prices in Pakistan as part of its fortnightly review amid fears of surge in prices due to spiraling tension in Middle East.
Pakistan held the general elections on Feb 8 across the country with results continue to trickle in still today (Feb 10). The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) is likely to end uncertainty that has surrounded the election results in coming days.
Once the official results are announced, the process for the forming of national and provincial governments will be initiated.
It is expected that the caretaker government would announced the revised prices for petroleum products for second fortnight of February 2024.
The government is likely to jack up the petrol and diesel prices in Pakistan from Feb 16 as international oil prices have seen uptick.

Currently, the per litre petrol price stands at Rs272.89 while per litre is being sold for Rs276.21.
