The Government of Pakistan has decided to keep petrol prices unchanged for the next fortnight, effective from September 1, 2025.
Officials confirmed that petrol will continue to be sold at Rs264.61 per liter, the same as last month. However, the price of high-speed diesel has dropped by Rs3 per liter, offering some relief to consumers. Similarly, kerosene oil and light diesel oil have also been reduced slightly.
Fuel Prices from 1 September 2025
- Petrol (Super): Rs264.61 per liter (no change)
- High-Speed Diesel: Rs269.99 per liter (down Rs3.00)
- Light Diesel Oil: Rs159.76 per litre (down Rs2.40)
- Kerosene Oil: Rs176.81 per litre (down Rs1.46)
This adjustment follows the earlier revision on August 16, when petrol prices were kept unchanged and diesel was reduced by Rs12.84 per liter. The new rates will remain in effect from September 1. In addition to petroleum prices, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority has announced a reduction in Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) prices for September. The rate of LPG has been lowered by Rs1.17 per kilogram, bringing the new price to Rs214.2 per kg. The price of an 11.8 kg domestic cylinder has also dropped by Rs14.36, now costing Rs2527.
The latest changes reflect global oil market trends and aim to provide some financial relief to households and businesses already facing inflationary pressures. Authorities added that prices will continue to be reviewed regularly in line with international rates.
