Jazz has teamed up with Huawei to implement solar energy at 1000 of its telecom sites throughout Pakistan.
This project will generate around 15000 MWh of clean energy annually, significantly cutting carbon emissions. It is part of Jazz’s long-term strategy to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.
Aamir Ibrahim, CEO of Jazz, stated that adopting renewable energy aligns with their goal of providing seamless connectivity while reducing environmental impact. He emphasized that this transition not only benefits their operations but also promotes sustainable energy use in Pakistan.
Huawei’s President, Steven Yi, expressed excitement about the initiative, viewing it as a step toward establishing green energy standards in the telecom sector. He noted that such efforts can help reduce operational costs for service providers while advancing environmental sustainability.
This solar project is expected to encourage wider adoption of renewable energy within Pakistan’s telecom industry. It showcases how modern technology can improve both efficiency and sustainability, setting a precedent for future green initiatives.
