Pakistan’s first tractor shipment arrive in Tanzania

Pakistan marked a significant turning point in its trade relations with East Africa as the first shipment of tractors manufactured in the country arrived in Tanzania, greatly boosting its export industry.

The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) Chief Executive Zubair Multiwala, Secretary TDAP Shehryar Taj, Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan, and Secretary Commerce Jawad Paul have all worked together to bring about this development.

The successful import process was made possible by Pakistan’s High Commission in Kenya, namely in Nairobi, where High Commissioner Ibrar Hussain and Commercial Counsellor Adeela Younis worked closely with Masai Trekta Company Ltd, a company established in Kenya and Tanzania.

With its newly established tractor distribution headquarters in Tanzania, Masai Trekta Company Ltd. has emerged as a major distributor of Pakistani ATS tractors in Tanzania and may soon spread throughout the area.

The well-known Lahore-based manufacturing firm Pak-Tractors House supplied the tractors for importation.

It is anticipated that the arrival of these tractors will bolster Pakistan’s export portfolio in East Africa and create opportunities for the country to expand its tractor exports to Tanzania and other nearby nations.

Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan expressed gratitude for the cooperation between TDAP, government officials, and the Pakistani High Commission in Nairobi, and he hoped that this success would encourage further collaborations of this kind in the future.

Such trade achievements, he underlined, not only boost Pakistan’s manufacturing sector but also increase the country’s economic presence in the African market.

This achievement demonstrates Pakistan’s dedication to growing its trading relationships internationally, with a particular emphasis on Africa.

The alliance with Masai Trekta Company Ltd. is anticipated to stimulate additional export expansion, bolstering Pakistan’s agricultural machinery industry and supplying dependable, high-quality equipment to East Africa.
