In a major relief move following the federal government’s massive fuel price hike, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi on Sunday announced a Rs2200 subsidy for every registered motorcycle owner in the province.
In one of the most hot-blooded press conferences, Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhaw Muhammad Sohail Afridi ranted against the federal government increasing the price of petrol to Rs55 per liter in a Peshawar press conference. He referred to it as some atomic bomb against the people, and the PTI and the KP government are completely rejecting the same.
Pakistan is in challenging times in the Pak-Afghan, Iran-Israel and this fuel shock, as Afridi remarked. Rather than inflicting expenses on ordinary people, elites have to reduce extravagant expenditures and grandiose procedures. He remembered that the same kings cried foul at little increases in Corona times, but this time they have no second thoughts before they smash up Rs55.
The KP government is not ready to support any anti-people movement. The fear of the shortages that will occur in the future looms; thus, Afridi presented clever ideas on how to address them directly. They had missed politics in previous floods because they had assisted with the same; so did the health of Nawaz Sharif. At this point, the PTI founder requires to be treated in the hospital of his choice with his own personal doctors.
Afridi announced bold relief steps. KP will spend Rs22 billion to help 1.5 million registered motorcyclists beat the price pain. BRT fares stay frozen the province covers costs for 40 buses itself. More BRT buses roll in soon, including 10 pink ones just for women. Farmers get a relief package shortly, and solar power reaches 130,000 homes fast. Lawmakers skip salary hikes. Foreign trips on government money face a total ban.
