LAHORE – Sugar prices have registered significant drop in open market of Pakistan amid declining inflation rate in the country.
Reports said the sugar price decreased by Rs32 to settle at Rs125 per kilogramme as compared to previous Rs157.
The development comes a day after the Utility Stores Corporation announced a Rs13 per kilogram reduction in sugar prices, bringing the new rate at Rs140 per kg.
Earlier, the prices of pulses dropped in the local wholesale market amid decline in global prices.
The price of black chickpeas moved down by Rs50 per kilogram since September 2024.
The price of daal channa is expected to drop to Rs300 after a decline of Rs60 per kg.
Similarly, the price of daal mash has decreased from Rs500 per kilogram to Rs425 after witnessing a drop of Rs75.
The price of first-grade Kabuli white chickpeas has dropped from Rs400 to Rs355 per kilogram.
