The Islamabad Excise and Taxation Department has extended the deadline for vehicle token tax payments by 15 days, setting the new deadline as January 15 to provide vehicle owners with more time to clear their dues and avoid legal penalties.
Vehicle registrations will be canceled for those who fail to pay their taxes, and penalties could be as high as 200% of the unpaid amount. Director of Excise Bilal Azam announced that excise office counters will remain open until 8:00 p.m. to assist citizens with token tax payments. Non-compliance will result in the cancellation of vehicle registrations.
To improve accessibility, the Islamabad Excise and Taxation Department launched a special mobile service on Thursday at Trail 3 parking lot, available from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Excise staff were on-site to provide a convenient experience for vehicle owners handling registration, transfers, and token tax payments.
Additionally, the ICT Doorstep Service was introduced, offering other essential services such as Domicile Certificates, Birth Certificates, Power of Attorney documents, International Driving Permits, Fuel Permits (Domestic/Commercial), and Motor Vehicle Registrations. This initiative aims to streamline administrative procedures and make them more convenient for citizens.
The spokesman emphasized that these services are designed to simplify administrative tasks and provide enhanced convenience.
