Has holiday been announced for schools, offices in Rawalpindi and Islamabad?

The Section 144 has been imposed in Rawalpindi and Islamabad as the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has announced protest against proposed constitutional amendments on October 4 (Friday).

Authorities have sealed the Red Zone in Islamabad and placed containers on several roads in both cities in order to stop protesters from entering the federal capital.

The placement of containers on roads has caused massive traffic jams on roads as students and employees struggled to reach their destinations on Thursday.

Containers have also been placed at Faizabad on the Express Highway, causing long queues of vehicles on the road.

What About Holiday for Schools on October 4?

As several roads are blocked for traffic, the administration is expected to announce a holiday for schools and offices in Rawalpindi and Islamabad in order to avoid any untoward situation.

However, there is no official statement from the city administration in this regard.
