Holiday announced for schools, colleges on August 26 in Sindh

KARACHI – The Sindh government has announced a holiday for schools and colleges on August 26, Monday, on account of Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A).

The provincial education department said all public and private schools will remain closed on August 26, adding that the decision has been taken in light of the department’s steering committee.

The Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain and his devoted companions is observed on 20th of the Islamic month of Safar-ul-Muzaffar with religious reverence to remember their supreme sacrifices for the cause of Islam.

Arbaeen will be observed across Pakistan on August 26 when processions will be held across the country.
