KP, GB residents warned of Flash floods on weekend

ISLAMABAD –Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan residents have been warned of possible Glacial Lake Outburst Floods (Glof) events from July 6 to July 8, 2024.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) issued an alert on Friday for local administration and concerned line departments to stay vigilant during this period.

People living near glaciers are advised to take precautionary measures, and tourists have been warned to be careful during rain.

In 2022, flash floods and Glofs affected many villages in GB in Hunza, Nagar, Ghizer, Astore, Skardu, and Gilgit.
