LAHORE – Caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi said all public and private educational institutions will remain closed from February 6 to 9 in view of general elections scheduled for Feb 8.
“In view of the upcoming general elections on 8th February, Provincial Cabinet has approved that all public and private sector schools, colleges, and universities in Punjab will be closed from Feb 6th to Feb 9th,” the chief minister said in a statement.
“9:30 am timing for schools will only be observed till 3rd February. Regular school timings will be observed later on,” he added.
It means the educational institution will start observing holidays from Feb 4 as there will be public holiday on Feb 5 on account of Kashmir Day.
The educational activities are expected to resume in Punjab on Feb 11.
