KARACHI – Azerbaijan Airlines, known as AZAL, has announced its intention to launch direct flights to Pakistan’s southern metropolis, Karachi.
The direct flight would begin starting next month, with the inaugural flight provisionally slated for April 18.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the airline highlighted its aim to enhance connectivity between Azerbaijan and Pakistan through this strategic initiative.
Karachi will become the third Pakistani city to benefit from direct AZAL flights, following the successful launches of routes connecting Baku to Islamabad and Baku to Lahore, the airline confirmed.
The inaugural flight from Baku to Karachi is scheduled for April 18, marking the beginning of a service that will operate twice a week, offering passengers increased accessibility and convenience in air travel between the two nations.
The move comes as Pakistan prepares to privatize its airline, Pakistan International Airlines for which the government has set a deadline of June.
