KUWAIT CITY – The Public Authority for Manpower in Kuwait has boosted efforts to optimize the labor market and refine the process of hiring foreign workers through a series of legislative measures.
The team led by a civil government committee including experts from various fields examined the recruitment process aimed at bolstering Kuwait’s workforce while ensuring productive recruitment practices.
One of the most important proposals is the prerequisite for academic certificates to undergo prior approval, ratification, and equivalence by official authorities and Kuwaiti embassies before the issuance of new work permits.
Additionally, the committee assessed the crucial technical professions required by the labor market, to devise tailored recruitment frameworks for each field. Implementing these proposed mechanisms will gradually unfold the actual requirements in each field. Initially, the major focus is on targeting medical, educational, engineering, legal, and financial professions.
Furthermore, sources revealed, that the committee comprised representatives from the Manpower Authority, the Ministries of Interior, Foreign Affairs, Higher Education, Kuwait University, and specialized public benefit associations, convened to deliberate on strategies for enhancing the recruitment process.
Particularly, the committee will focus on technical professions essential to Kuwait’s economic landscape. The intention behind the overall exercise is to assess the demand for critical technical roles within the labor market and formulate customized recruitment frameworks tailored to each profession.
The committee’s collaborative effort aims to ensure a streamlined and efficient recruitment process that meets the evolving needs of Kuwait’s workforce while maintaining high standards of expertise and competencies, arabtimesonline reported.
Moreover, the committee will handle efforts to understand what the job market needs, including people from all countries who can work in Kuwait. Members are sharing some ideas to make sure that academic certificates are checked and approved by the right authorities and Kuwaiti embassies before people can get new work permits.
As Kuwait increases its labor force, these measures emphasize efforts to ensure quality and competence in recruited professionals, strengthening the nation’s workforce and economic objectives.
