Saudi Arabia allows performing Umrah on any visa

MAKKAH – Saudi Arabia has eased the visa rules for performing Umrah, allowing Muslims to undertake Umrah with different types of visas.

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has stated that all visa holders, including personal, family, transit, labor, and e-visas can easily perform Umrah.

“Whatever the type of your visa, you can do Umrah,” the ministry said in a statement.

To get an Umrah permit, pilgrims are asked to use Nusuk APP after which they can follow the designated timing for the prayers in the Grand Mosque in Makkah.

In the past months, the Saudi government has arranged multiple options for overseas Muslims to come and perform Umrah. The purpose of the latest relaxation is to facilitate millions of Muslims across the world who can now perform Umrah with ease and comfort.

As the country is taking significant steps towards enhancing the spiritual journey of Hajj and Umrah performers, the Saudi authorities have also introduced an AI guidance robot developed by the Presidency of Religious Affairs to assist Hajj and Umrah pilgrims.

At present, the government is busy with finalizing the arrangements for Hajj for which it would welcome over 2 million pilgrims. The Hajj is scheduled to take place in June this year and during the Hajj days, the government bans the performance of Umrah.
