JAKARTA – The visa processing for Bali would stay closed over the eve of Eid al Fitr – the religious event celebrated by Muslims.
As the whole of the Muslim world and Indonesia prepare for the Eid al-Fitr holiday, businesses and government agencies are preparing to go on annual leave which would impact flyers also.
If you are also trying to visit Bali for the Eid holidays, be warned that visa processing will stay shut from April 8th to April 15th.
A statement published by the Immigration Department confirms, “Visa processing will be temporarily closed from the 8th to the 15th April 2024 due to the public holiday and collective leave of the Hari Raya Idul Fitr 1445 Hijriaj.”
“However, visa exemptions and visa-on-arrival services are still accessible. We will resume regular operations on the 16th of April, 2024,” read the official statement.
“Visa applications received on the 6th (Saturday) and 7th (Sunday) of April 2024 will start to be processed on the 16th of April 2024 (Tuesday),” the department clarified and added that the immigration offices will also be closed.
Meanwhile, Bali’s Ngurah Rai Immigration Office also released a statement for those seeking renewal of permits.
“For foreigners whose permits expire on April 6-15, 2024, are expected to apply for an extension of residence permits no later than April 5, 2024, at 12.00 WITA. Services will reopen Tuesday, April 16, 2024,” the department elaborated.
“In connection with Hari Raya Eid-ul-Fitr 1445H, this is hereby informed to all immigration service applicants that the Special TPI Ngurah Rai Immigration Office on: Monday-Monday, 8-15 April 2024 is CLOSED,” it added.
