A man was lynched by a mob allegedly for chanting “Pakistan Zindabad” during a local cricket match in Karnataka’s coastal city of Mangaluru.
The incident took place while a match was in progress, and tensions rose after the victim argued with another man named Sachin. The disagreement turned serious, leading the victim to call for support. Soon after, a group of people attacked him using sticks, rods, and other weapons. The brutal beating caused the young man to die on the spot.
Police officials quickly arrived at the scene, secured the area, and shifted the body for post-mortem. The report later confirmed that the man died due to severe internal injuries and excessive bleeding. So far, police have arrested 15 individuals on murder charges, while three suspects managed to escape. A manhunt is currently underway to track down the remaining accused. The identity of the deceased has not been made public yet.
Authorities have started an investigation into the cause of the argument and whether the attack was pre-planned or sudden. Local residents expressed shock over the violent act that occurred during what was supposed to be a peaceful game.The case highlights the growing concern over violence in public spaces in India, especially during social or community events. Law enforcement agencies are under pressure to ensure justice and prevent similar tragedies in the future.
