Iran shoots down seven Israeli drones as war sees hundreds of missiles and drones fired

Iran has also downed a number of Israeli drones when its air defense system is reported to have intercepted seven unmanned drones that attempted to penetrate Iranian airspace.

Tehran officials in the military reported that the drones were spotted as they were on their way towards the countries’ borders and were then shot down before they could strike their targets. The Iranian officials further stated that hundreds of missiles and drones had been fired in the prevailing conflict.

They indicated that over 500 ballistic and cruise missiles were fired, not mentioning the over 2000 drones of various types. These strikes were explained by the officials as the continuation of the Iranian military reaction in the conflict with the region. Approximately 60 percent targeted the US troops in the area and the other 40 percent of the missiles targeted Israeli territories.

According to the military sources, the operations are based on the current campaign of Iran against foreign forces associated with the conflict. Meanwhile, the president of Iran was able to give out a public speech in the tense situation. In the speech and on the social media, he gave the people in Kurdistan an appreciation and sympathy to those who have died and survived in the fight.

Governors, as well as the armed forces, were also ordered by the president to be on high alert and ensure national security. He ordered security agencies to be decisive against any form of separatist movements, and any activities posing a threat to the stability of Iran were unacceptable.
