Another good news for the citizens of Islamabad as the government has announced to reduce public transport fares by 10%. As there has been a decrease in petrol prices in the country, a meeting was held by The Secretary of Islamabad Transport Authority. It was attended by the Driver’s Welfare Organization and several other transportation Business owners.

This fare reduction is going to be very beneficial for the citizens of Islamabad as the fares were getting out of hand and even public transport was becoming difficult for the unfortunate. These new fares are in effect from today.

Also, a good healthy number of individuals travel from rural to urban areas for their jobs and it is becoming difficult for these individuals to commute to and from their homes and jobs. The transportation sector can also not be blamed for this as their hands are also tied because of the high fuel prices.

This 10% reduction in fares will play a very advantageous role for the people as there are an approximate of 23 routes all across the Federal Capital. It will alleviate some of the financial burden being faced by the citizens. Moreover, projects like Metro are helping quite a lot of commuters by providing affordable transportation across the city. Hubs in the capital like Saddar are benefitting the most from Metro and the reduction of fares for Islamabad.

Also, with the massive fuel prices across the country, individuals who commute by their own personal transport such as cars or bikes have also started opting for public transport in the last few months. This increase in the number of fares has also favored the people in the public transport sector as they’re seeing more and more fares with the rise in petrol prices. Check here for the latest fuel prices “Latest Petrol Prices in Pakistan – October 16, 2023.”
