ISLAMABAD – The Federal Board of Intermediate and Education (FBISE) has started a new journey towards modernization. FBISE hopes to launch an Artificial Intelligence (AI) based marking system for assessments and examinations.

The traditional method of marking has been outdated as the world moves towards AI now. FBISE hopes to launch the first of its kind marking system in  Pakistan.

AI based marking systems are widely used now across the world. Even certain International language tests such as the Pearson’s PTE English Language Test are also marked by AI softwares.

The Federal Board of Intermediate Education will launch a pilot project first. The pilot project will consist of a few colleges in Islamabad who will use the AI to mark their send-up and pre-board examinations.

If the project is successful, the marking system is to expand all over Islamabad to provide more accuracy and transparency.

FBISE hopes to incorporate the AI based marking system completely by 2025 in a move to eliminate the traditional marking system.

This new initiative is going to be advantageous for the FBISE and the students alongside teachers as well.

The days of unmarked questions and counting mistakes will be no more and teachers wouldn’t have to sit with a tower of papers to check exams.

Moreover, tech-based education and results are always preferred in many parts of the world due to the transparency and accuracy of the results.
