ISLAMABAD – A huge fire erupted in the Margalla Hills National Park on Sunday February 11, 2024 in Islamabad engulfing huge areas of the forest.
Locals saw the fire erupted at the Margalla Hills and were worried about the preservation of wildlife present in the forest.
As of yet, the exact cause of the fire is still unknown and no casualties have been reported till now.
Such incidents have been increasing recently which can be fatal because Margalla Hills has become a major tourist attraction.
Several spots such as the Dino Valley and Monal host numerous tourists and visitors on a daily basis.
The park itself covers an area of 31,000 acres making it the 3rd largest national park in Pakistan itself.
The major causes of these fires are usually tourists and a f ew trouble mongers who ignite the fire but are unable to control it further.
