Islamabad girls college gets Google Center of Excellence

ISLAMABAD: A girls college in the federal capital has received an upgrade in Google Center of Excellence.

Islamabad College for Girls on Thursday saw the opening of said Google-powered initiative, a first-of-its kind Center of Excellence equipped with state-of-the-art high-tech classrooms and IT labs. The project is a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Education and Google for Education.

“This achievement is akin to realizing a dream. Secretary Education Wani Sahib has tirelessly championed the cause of schools and colleges,” said Federal Education Minister Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui at the formal signing ceremony.

College Director Saba Faisal also spoke at the ceremony, noting the center will have a transformative impact on federal education institutes. Moreover, she stated that students will now be equipped to compete in the global marketplace by learning skills at Google Center of Excellence.
