Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has ordered the initiation of two mega projects to address Islamabad’s long-standing traffic issues and benefit the people of the city and surrounding areas.
The foundation stone will be placed for the F-8 Exchange Chowk Interchange and Serena Chowk Interchange projects. With two underpasses and connected highways, the Serena Chowk Interchange will be finished in three months as opposed to ten. With a flyover, an underpass, and connecting roadways, the F-8 Exchange Chowk Interchange will be finished in four months as opposed to twelve.
The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has been instructed by the interior minister to finish the projects before the deadline.
Prior to this, the CDA had given Serena Chowk Interchange a 10-month deadline and F-8 Exchange Chowk Interchange a 12-month deadline. Prior to construction commencing, Mohsin Naqvi gave his approval to the alternate traffic strategy.
The layout ideas for the F-8 Exchange Chowk and Serena Chowk Interchanges were evaluated at a crucial meeting he chaired at the CDA. This swift action aims to significantly reduce congestion and improve the daily commute for Islamabad’s residents.
With these projects, the government hopes to enhance traffic flow and provide a more efficient transportation network for all.
