KARACHI – In a highly anticipated move, Azerbaijan Airlines has announced its plans to launch direct flights to Karachi, Pakistan.
The inaugural flight is tentatively scheduled for April 18 this year, marking a significant milestone in bolstering connectivity between Azerbaijan and Pakistan.
Karachi, the economic and cultural powerhouse of Pakistan, becomes the third city in the country to receive direct flights from AZAL. Building on the success of last year’s launches, which included direct flights from Baku to Islamabad and Baku to Lahore, the expansion to Karachi further solidifies AZAL’s commitment to providing convenient and direct air travel options for passengers.
The introduction of direct flights to Karachi is poised to have far-reaching effects, facilitating increased business, tourism, and cultural exchanges between Azerbaijan and Pakistan. This move aligns with positive developments in Pakistan’s aviation sector, exemplified by the recent launch of direct flights between Karachi and Kuala Lumpur by Malaysian airline Batik Air.
It is noteworthy that AZAL already offers flights to two other major cities in Pakistan – Islamabad and Lahore. This comprehensive coverage strengthens AZAL’s position as a key player in connecting Azerbaijan with various regions in Pakistan, providing passengers with diverse travel options.
Adding to the international aviation landscape, American carrier Ravn Alaska Airlines has also expressed interest in starting operations in Pakistan. Recent communications with the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) indicate Ravn Alaska Airlines’ intent to initiate flights, contributing to the growing diversity of international flight choices for travelers.
