Dubai rolls out 5-year multiple entry visa for tourists from this country

UAE – In a significant development, the authorities in Dubai have introduced a five-year multiple-entry visa for tourists from India.

The announcement was made by the Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), comes as Dubai continues to see a steady increase in visitors from India.

According to the latest data from the Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), Dubai welcomed approximately 2.46 million overnight visitors from India in 2023, marking a 25 percent increase from the pre-pandemic era. This surge in Indian visitors solidified India’s position as the number one source market for tourism in Dubai.

The introduction of the five-year multiple-entry visa is intended to further enhance travel between India and Dubai, fostering sustained economic collaborations and encouraging tourism and business ties. The visa, which can be issued within 2-5 working days upon receiving and accepting the service request, allows holders to stay in the country for 90 days, extendable once for a similar period, with a total stay not exceeding 180 days in one year.

This initiative provides tourists with the flexibility of multiple entries and exits, facilitating seamless connectivity for both business engagements and leisure travel. DET emphasized that the outstanding inbound visitation from India in 2023 contributed to a record-breaking performance by Dubai’s tourism sector.

It is noteworthy that the UAE passport holds a strong position, ranking 12th in the Henley Passport Index 2024. This ranking grants citizens visa-free access to 183 destinations worldwide, further solidifying the region’s global influence.

Dubai, with its vibrant population of approximately 3.4 million, continues to thrive as a global business hub fueled by tourism, real estate, and trade, solidifying its status as a dynamic city with an iconic skyline and rich cultural tapestry.
