England team arrives in Pakistan for Test series

England men’s cricket team on Wednesday arrived in Pakistan to play test series.

Pakistan is hosting England in three tests starting in Multan on October 7 (Monday) , before travelling to Australia for ODI and T20 matches in November.

The English squad, led by Ben Stokes, will rest on October 2 and 3 before kicking off practice sessions on October 4.

The first two matches in the series will take place in Multan and the third in Rawalpindi.

The second Test was originally planned to be held in Karachi but has been relocated to Multan due to renovations at the Karachi stadium in preparation for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy.

This tour marks England’s return to Pakistan for Test cricket after their 2022 visit, during which they achieved a historic 3-0 series victory.

Pakistan have yet to name Babar Azam’s replacement after the skipper resigned, citing a need to lessen his workload and focus on improving his game.

Babar stepped down as captain of all three formats last year after Pakistan failed to make the knockout stage of the 50-overs World Cup, before returning as white-ball skipper in March ahead of the Twenty20 World Cup, where Pakistan did not make it to the Super Eight stage.

Wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan is a strong candidate for the One Day International (ODI) captaincy, while young cricketer Mohammad Haris could be considered for the T20 format.
