You can now visit Kenya without any visa, confirms PM

LISBON – Tourists across the world are being increasingly subjected to different taxes as Portugal’s city Lisbon has come up with another tax to be charged soon.

As per the details, a new tourist tax of €2 per passenger will be imposed on cruise ships docking in Lisbon. The tax is aimed at bolstering the city’s annual revenue by €1.2 million.

The Port of Lisbon Authority (APL) is overseeing the tax collection, collaborating with the Lisbon City Council (CML) via the existing customs platform, Janela Única Logística.

‘We are currently finalising the final version of the document with the CML and internally implementing the procedures so that the fee is charged to passengers who make a stopover to visit the city,’ stated the Port of Lisbon Authority (APL).

Portugal has been attracting tourists from across the world due to the attractions it presents to the tourists. The country also became famous for its much sought after Golden Visa though the visa has now been discarded owing to safety concerns and the skyrocketing prices of housing in the country.

Lisbon, the capital city of Portugal, is renowned for its rich history, captivating architecture, and vibrant culture. Perched atop seven hills overlooking the Tagus River, this coastal metropolis boasts picturesque cobblestone streets, pastel-colored buildings adorned with traditional tiles (azulejos), and historic neighborhoods like Alfama. Lisbon is celebrated for its iconic landmarks such as São Jorge Castle, Belém Tower, and the Jerónimos Monastery. Renowned for Fado music, delectable cuisine, and a thriving arts scene, Lisbon offers a blend of old-world charm and modern delights, attracting visitors with its warm climate, stunning vistas, and welcoming atmosphere.
