Turkey announces visa-free entry for citizens of six nations

ISTANBUL – Turkey has made a groundbreaking move, allowing citizens from six nations visa-free entry into the country, in a bid to boost tourism and foster international connections.

The recent decree, announced by the Turkish government, opens its doors to visitors from the United States, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Canada, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates.

Under this initiative, regular passport holders from these countries can revel in seamless travel and stay in Turkey for up to 90 days within a 180-day period without the need for a visa.

This major decision aligns with Turkey’s efforts to simplify visa procedures and make travel more accessible, amplifying its partnership with the European Union. A similar trend of extending visa-free privileges globally has been observed, with Iran recently offering visa-free entry to citizens from over 30 countries, including India.

Nestled between Europe and Asia, Turkey boasts rich history, cultural diversity, and stunning landscapes, attracting over 50 million tourists annually. The country’s population of approximately 84 million represents a blend of traditions and ethnicities, predominantly following Islam as the major religion.
