385 officials of Islamabad Police promoted

ISLAMABAD: As many as 385 officials have been promoted to various ranks within the Islamabad Police, a spokesperson for the department said Friday.

“The promotions recognize the dedication and hard work of our officers,” a national daily quoted the spokesperson, noting that the department would soon see to the promotion of Deputy Superintendents (DSPs) and Superintendents (SPs).

Earlier, Islamabad IG Ali Nasir Rizvi highlighted various security measures taken by the police department to combat narcotics and illegal weapons.

“We have intensified efforts against narcotics trafficking and illegal weapons possession. Display of weapons has been strictly regulated, and measures are being taken to eliminate illegal weapons from circulation,” he said.

He continued, “We have implemented effective strategies including strengthening the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) Special Branch and improving patrolling.”
