ISLAMABAD – The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) on Saturday said that mobile phone services will be temporarily unavailable in certain districts of Punjab and Balochistan on April 21 and 22 due to by-elections 2024.
The authority said that the decision has been taken in line with the directives of the Ministry of interior to ensure security during the polling.
The by-elections on 21 national and provincial seats across Pakistan will be held on April 21 (tomorrow).
Earlier in the day, the Punjab government has asked the interior ministry to suspend mobile internet services in Lahore, Talagang, Chakwal, Sheikhupura, Kasur, Kallar Kahar, Gujrat, Sadiqabad, DG Khan, Ali Pur Chatha, Bakkhar City, Zafarwal, and Kot Chutta due to security reasons.
