The Deputy Commissioner of Islamabad has rejected the viral claim of a petrol shortage in Islamabad and Peshawar, saying that authorities have enough fuel stock in the city.
He stated that the district administration is issuing an important advisory to citizens regarding reports of petrol shortages at some petrol pumps in the federal capital. The administration is actively reviewing the reports of alleged shortages, but officials confirm that petrol and diesel are available in ample quantities at most fuel stations across Islamabad.
The limited reports of supply issues are linked to the temporary closure of heavy transport routes, which caused brief disruptions at a few pumps. Fuel supply is now being ensured at these locations through petrol tankers, and authorities say normal distribution is being restored.
Citizens have been urged not to panic or believe unverified news about fuel shortages. Assistant Commissioners are closely monitoring the availability of stock at petrol pumps in their respective areas, while the DC of Islamabad is also tracking the overall supply and distribution of petrol and diesel through the district’s modern digital dashboard.
