Pakistani security forces have thwarted attempted drone attacks in Abbottabad, Swabi and Nowshera, successfully shooting down all incoming drones, officials said.
According to the minister, Pakistan’s anti-drone systems intercepted and shot down all the drones immediately, preventing any casualties in the three incidents. He added that these attempts highlight the direct links between the Afghan Taliban regime and acts of terrorism in Pakistan. Authorities emphasized that vigilance and modern technology remain crucial in defending against such threats.
Meanwhile, a separate incident occurred outside the Government Girls Higher Secondary School in Pabini village of Swabi, where a blast injured a student. Swabi police reported that the explosion was allegedly caused by explosives dropped through a drone. An investigation is ongoing to determine the exact details of the incident and identify those responsible.
Officials said that both incidents underline the growing risks posed by unmanned aerial devices in the hands of terrorist groups. Security forces have been directed to strengthen surveillance and continue anti-drone operations across sensitive areas to prevent future attacks.
The government has also urged residents to remain cautious and report any suspicious activity to local authorities. Coordination between law enforcement, military, and intelligence agencies continues to ensure the safety of civilians, especially in vulnerable regions. These events demonstrate Pakistan’s commitment to defending its territory and people against external threats while maintaining public safety and law and order throughout the country.
