In Turbat, a remote-controlled bomb attack targeting the squad of Deputy Commissioner Kech, Major (retd) Bashir Ahmed, injured eight people, including five Levies Force personnel.
According to police, the blast was carried out through a remote-controlled device. Fortunately, DC Kech narrowly escaped the attack without any injuries. The explosion caused severe damage to one of the vehicles in the official squad. Several people sustained injuries and were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Rescue teams and law enforcement agencies reached the site soon after the incident.
Soon after the blast, security forces surrounded the area and launched a search to locate the culprits. The Bomb Disposal Squad reached the site to collect evidence and inspect the explosives. According to police, the bomb was fixed on a motorcycle parked near the road and was triggered remotely when the DC’s convoy arrived.
The attack has once again raised concerns about the security situation in Balochistan, particularly in Kech and surrounding regions, where militants have carried out similar strikes in the past. Security forces have intensified patrols and surveillance in the area to prevent any further attacks. Authorities have assured that an investigation is underway to identify the perpetrators behind the bombing and bring them to justice.
