The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has granted the officers of Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan (North/South) the authority to perform the duties and responsibilities of customs officials in Balochistan, effective immediately.
Under Balochstan’s control, the Frontier Corps Balochistan (North/South) would function as customs officials until June 30, 2025.
As per the FBR’s release of S.R.0.1503 (1)/2024 on Thursday, the Board has assigned the duties of customs officers under the Customs Act to the officers of the Frontier Corps Balochistan (North/South) who are acting within their respective jurisdictions.
The requirement that the tasks be completed inside the borders of Balochistan applies to this. Ports, international airports, border customs stations, customs zones, bonded warehouses, etc. are not included in the functions.
No legitimate passenger’s luggage or merchandise removed from a customs area may be inspected by Frontier Corps Balochistan (North/South) staff members.
According to FBR, each formation or wing of the Frontier Corps Balochistan (North/South)’s Officer Commanding (OC) is required to provide the Collector of Customs (Enforcement) in their respective jurisdiction with a monthly report on seizures.
