Five soldiers, including a captain, embrace martyrdom in Balochistan blast

Security forces conducted an intelligence-led sanitisation operation in Sher Bandi, Kech, where troops were attacked with an IED.

The attack resulted in the martyrdom of five soldiers, including a young officer. According to ISPR, Captain Waqar Ahmed, 25, from Loralai; Naik Asmat Ullah, 35, from Dera Ghazi Khan; Lance Naik Junaid Ahmed, 29, from Sukkur; Lance Naik Khan Muhammad, 29, from Mardan; and Sepoy Muhammad Zahoor, 28, from Swabi embraced martyrdom during the attack. The military’s media wing said that the sacrifices made by the brave sons of the soil will not go in vain and added that security forces and the nation continue to be committed to exterminating terrorism from Pakistan. Following the incident, the forces quickly launched a clearance operation and killed five militants involved in the attack.

In the meantime, security forces carried out extensive operations across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to eradicate Indian-sponsored militants. Intelligence-based operations were carried out in Lakki Marwat and Bannu districts on September 13 and 14, respectively. The military’s media wing said that the sacrifices made by the brave sons of soil will not go in vain and added that security forces and the nation continue to be committed to exterminating terrorism from Pakistan. Meanwhile, security forces carried out extensive operations across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to eradicate Indian-sponsored militants. Intelligence-based operations were carried out in Lakki Marwat and Bannu districts on September 13 and 14, respectively. In Lakki Marwat a group of militants were intercepted by troops; 14 were killed in an intense gunfight. A separate operation in Bannu resulted in the killing of another 17 militants. In total, 31 militants have been neutralized in a day’s operation against extremists in the two districts.
