Former Foreign Minister Gohar Khan passes away, Who was he?

Gohar Ayub Khan, former Foreign Minister and National Assembly speaker passed away on Friday, November 17th 2023.His funeral prayer will be offered today on Saturday, November 18th at his village Rehana in Haripur District.

The Secretary General Of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Omar Ayub Khan took to X and expressed his grief stating that his father had passed away peacefully after a brief illness. He stated that his funeral prayer will be offered on Saturday in his village Rehana located in Haripur District, KPK at 3:00 pm.

He also stated that Qul will be offered at his residence Main G.T Road, Haripur on November 19th, at 11:00 am. 

Who was Foreign Minister Gohar Khan?

Gohar Ayub Khan was born in 1937. His father was the Former Field Marshal President Ayub Khan. He was under treatment for a sickness at one of the private hospitals at Islamabad for some time now. 

Expressing sorrow and grief over the death of Gohar, the President of Pakistan, Dr. Arif Alvi gave his heartiest condolences and paid tribute to the ex-FM as well. 

He also prayed that Allah Almighty would show mercy to the departed soul and give courage to the family he left behind. Moreover, Dr. Arif also paid tribute to Gohar over the political services he provided for Pakistan.

Numerous other high-profile individuals such as caretaker Prime Minister Kakar also expressed grief and offered his condolences to the family. Moreover, PML-N Leader, Shehbaz Sharif alongside Chaudhary Shujahat Hussain and Sadiq Sanjrani also expressed their grief and paid tribute to the deceased.
