Former Pakistan Army officers Maj (Retd) Adil Raja, Capt (Retd) Haider Mehdi convicted for Espionage

Rawalpindi – Under the Pakistan Army Act 1952, two former Military officials Major (Retd) Adil Farooq Raja and Captain (Retd) Haider Mehdi have been convicted of espionage by the Field General Court Martial (FGCM).

The court has penalised Adil Raja for 14 years imprisonment while Haider Mehdi has received a sentence of 12 years imprisonment.

An ISPR statement states that ranks of both army officials were forfeited and both of the culprits are charged with espionage under the Official Secrets Act (OSA).

Currently, both the convicts are living abroad where they are inciting the public using social media platforms.
