The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) announced on Friday that gas supplies to all industrial consumers and all CNG stations would remain suspended for 48 hours from January 24 to improve gas pressure for domestic consumers.
According to media reports, the gas supply will remain suspended from 8 am on Saturday until 8 am on Monday, January 26. The suspension will also apply to captive power plants and CNG stations operating on RLNG. The company said the decision aims to ensure uninterrupted gas supply to domestic and commercial consumers, who face higher demand during cold weather.
As temperatures drop, household gas consumption rises sharply for heating and cooking, putting pressure on the overall gas distribution system. Therefore, authorities have prioritized residential users to maintain stable pressure in gas pipelines.
Furthermore, SSGC confirmed that under its regular gas load management plan, gas supply to domestic and commercial consumers will also remain suspended daily from 10 pm to 5 am. This step is intended to balance supply and demand and prevent a complete breakdown of the gas network during peak winter usage.
In addition, the company has advised consumers experiencing low gas pressure to register their complaints through the 24-hour helpline 1199. SSGC officials said that complaint teams will remain active to address urgent issues and ensure fair distribution of gas where possible.
