The government has announced that Eid al-Fitr holidays will be observed from March 31 (Monday) to April 2 (Wednesday), according to a Cabinet Division notification.
Eid al-Fitr is expected to fall on March 31, following the completion of 29 days of Ramadan. The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee and zonal committees will meet on the evening of March 30 to view the Shawwal moon.
Religious scholars, meteorologists, and officials will gather at the Ministry of Religious Affairs in Islamabad to review moon sighting reports from across the country.
The Pakistan Space & Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco) has predicted that the Shawwal moon is likely to be visible on March 30, confirming Eid on March 31. Astronomical calculations and advanced technology support this forecast, ensuring accuracy in determining the Islamic calendar.
