Govt launches app for pilgrims to know everything related to Hajj 2024

ISLAMABAD – The government of Pakistan has finally launched the much-awaited Hajj application for pilgrims to get extended support and information.

The mobile app has been developed in record time to facilitate Hajj pilgrims who would be performing Hajj next year. Caretaker Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT) Dr Umar Saif and Caretaker Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Aneeq Ahmed jointly launched the application.

The application has been developed by the National Information Technology Board (NITB) and at the launch event, CEO NITB Babar Majeed Bhatti informed the participants about the usage of the app.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Umar Saif said that the government was digitalizing systems under the directions of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC).

The minister detailed that the Hajj App will help monitor the activities of pilgrims who will be able to get information regarding their current location, time and direction while they are on their spiritual journey.

Another important feature of the application is that it has been developed in different languages to facilitate the pilgrims who will also be able to give their feedback after performing Hajj.

At present, the App features Urdu and English language but with time, the regional languages of Pakistan will also be part of the app.

Meanwhile, Aneeq Ahmad lauded the efforts of the Ministries of Religious Affairs and Information Technology for developing the Hajj App, adding that it will guide and facilitate the intending pilgrims from the start till the end of their spiritual journey.

The application offers a comprehensive platform where pilgrims can access their Hajj training schedules, encompassing specific dates, times, and locations. It also provides detailed flight information, containing flight numbers, departure cities, dates, and timings for departure and return flights. Additionally, pilgrims can verify their Hajj dues and refunds, lodge complaints, and make general inquiries, effectively tracking and managing these requests within the app.

The application has an offline map feature that permits the pilgrims to choose their destination with the shortest available route.
