Train tickets set to rise in price again

A man died in a shooting at a sheesha café in Karachi’s Gulistan-e-Johar Block 3.

Police identified the victim as Najeeb. A group of drunk men entered the café and tried to sit in the women’s section. Café staff asked them to leave. The men got angry and argued with the security guard. During the fight, the guard allegedly fired a shot. The bullet hit Najeeb, killing him on the spot.

As a result, police arrested the café manager and security guard. Investigations continue to uncover full details. In addition, authorities probe the role of the drunk group. This tragedy highlights risks at sheesha spots amid health rules. Back in 2024, Sindh government banned sheesha and vaping in public places. They enforced the Prohibition of Smoking and Protection of Non-Smokers Health Ordinance 2002.

The Sindh Health Department ordered commissioners in Karachi, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, and Sukkur to act. The ban covers hotels, restaurants, parks, cafés, and picnic areas. Despite this, officials note poor enforcement—many venues ignore the rules. Moving forward, police urge stricter checks on cafés.

Families demand justice for Najeeb. The incident sparks calls for better security and full ban compliance. As investigations wrap up, the community watches for outcomes. Such events remind everyone of dangers in unregulated spots. Stronger action could prevent future losses.
