HEC increases degree attestation fee across Pakistan

HEC has raised the degree attestation fee from Rs1000 to Rs3000 with its new online system.

This change supports a fully digital and paperless process across Pakistan. Chairman Niaz Ahmad Akhtar confirmed the update and explained that part of the fee goes directly to universities for verifying documents. The online platform lets students apply digitally.

They no longer need to visit HEC offices in person or send original papers by courier. This shift saves time and cuts costs, especially for students from far-off areas who once travelled long distances. Earlier, applicants paid extra for university checks, photocopies, transport, and hotel stays.

Now, they handle everything online from home. They get e-attestation certificates that verify easily in digital form. Dr Akhtar highlighted how the system reduces travel and lodging expenses. Students complete the full process without hassle.

Universities receive funds to speed up verification, making the system smoother for all. This move modernizes education services in Pakistan. It brings convenience and efficiency to millions of students seeking attested degrees for jobs, higher studies, or opportunities abroad. HEC aims to eliminate paperwork delays and make attestation quick and accessible.

The change took effect with the online launch. Students now upload scans and track applications live. No more queues or lost documents. This digital step aligns with global trends, helping Pakistan’s youth compete worldwide. Overall, the fee hike funds better services while slashing student burdens. Expect faster processing and reliable certificates soon.
