The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has announced that 75% of the work on the Jinnah Avenue F-8 Exchange Chowk Interchange underpass has been completed, and the project is on schedule to open for traffic on December 25, 2024.
CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa conducted an unannounced early morning visit to the project site to assess the progress. He expressed satisfaction with both the pace and quality of the work, urging the team to maintain this momentum to ensure the timely completion of the project. Randhawa also emphasized that work on the flyover and underpass is progressing simultaneously to meet the deadline.
During the visit, CDA engineers provided updates, reporting that 70 out of 74 piles for the interchange had been completed. Additionally, the construction of the underpass girders is nearly finished, and the concrete work for the underpass bed is expected to be completed soon.
Chairman Randhawa instructed the consultants and engineers to maintain high construction standards while meeting the project deadlines. He reassured that the project is on track for completion in record time, with the interchange set to become a model of efficiency and innovation in urban infrastructure.
With rapid progress on all fronts, the Jinnah Avenue Interchange is on track to become a major achievement in Islamabad’s development. The project is expected to significantly improve traffic flow and ease transportation in the area.
