Karachi police station hit by cracker attack

Three police officers were left injured after unknown assailants hurled a cracker, reportedly a hand grenade, inside the Preedy police station in Karachi late Friday night.

The injured officers, Arshad, Amir, and Riaz, sustained pellet wounds but are in stable condition at a nearby hospital. DIG South Asad Raza confirmed that the explosion shattered the window of a crime scene unit vehicle. A bomb disposal squad was called to analyze the blast and determine its exact nature.

Following the attack, police sealed off the area and launched an investigation. Authorities are reviewing CCTV footage to track down the culprits.

Sindh Home Minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar has taken notice of the attack and ordered an inquiry. He also directed officials to ensure the injured officers receive proper medical treatment.

The incident has raised concerns about the security of law enforcement offices in Karachi. Authorities are tightening security measures to prevent similar attacks.
