Pakistan Met Office has predicted heavy rains and thunderstorm across Pakistan during Muharram 9, 10 – two days in which Shia Muslims hold public processions, and organise massive religious gatherings.
The new weather system is set to lash major cities like Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar as moderate monsoon currents are entering from the Arabian Sea. The new system will bring downpour and thundershower.
Weather Update for Ashura
In capital city Islamabad and Punjab, the forecast anticipates rain, wind, and thundershowers from July 16 with intermittent breaks. Bahawalpur Dera Ghazi Khan and other cities are expected to experience wet phase from July 17-19.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) capital Peshawar, DI Khan, Swat and othr regions will also receive rain, wind, and thundershowers across several districts from July 16 to 21.
In Sindh and Balochistan, hot and humid weather is expected, with rain and thundershowers predicted for eastern areas later this week.
Lastly, Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan are set to experience rain, wind, and thundershowers from July 16 to 21, with occasional cloudy conditions in Gilgit Baltistan. This comprehensive forecast highlights the varied weather patterns expected across Pakistan during the specified period.
