Lahore ring road to stay closed for 8 hours this Saturday

The Ring Road will remain closed from 10 am to 6 pm tomorrow due to repair work, according to official sources who spoke to APP on Friday.

Authorities have advised citizens to use alternative routes during this time to avoid inconvenience. Traffic police have also been directed to assist commuters and manage traffic flow on nearby roads. Signboards and guidance teams will be placed to help drivers take safe detours.

In a separate development, the Punjab government has decided to construct modern rest areas at six key points along the Lahore Ring Road. These facilities aim to provide comfort and convenience for daily travelers and long-distance drivers. Each rest area will include clean washrooms, food courts, prayer spaces, petrol stations, and vehicle repair services. According to officials, this project is part of a broader plan to modernize road infrastructure and improve travel quality across Punjab.

Construction work on the rest areas will begin soon, and the government is working to complete the project on a fast-track basis.
