Latest Passport Fee Structure in Pakistan (Jan 13, 2025 Update)

Bad news for Pakistanis seeking asylum abroad

As of January 2025, the Directorate General of Immigration & Passports (DGIP) in Pakistan has maintained the passport fee structure revised on March 7, 2024. This fee schedule applies to Machine Readable Passports (MRPs) with varying page counts and validity periods.

36-Page Passport Fees:

  • 5-Year Validity:
    • Normal Processing: PKR 4,500
    • Urgent Processing: PKR 7,500
  • 10-Year Validity:
    • Normal Processing: PKR 6,700
    • Urgent Processing: PKR 11,200

72-Page Passport Fees:

  • 5-Year Validity:
    • Normal Processing: PKR 8,200
    • Urgent Processing: PKR 13,500
  • 10-Year Validity:
    • Normal Processing: PKR 12,400
    • Urgent Processing: PKR 20,200

100-Page Passport Fees:

  • 5-Year Validity:
    • Normal Processing: PKR 9,000
    • Urgent Processing: PKR 18,000
  • 10-Year Validity:
    • Normal Processing: PKR 13,500
    • Urgent Processing: PKR 27,000

Lost Passport Replacement Fees:

In the event of a lost passport, replacement fees are structured as follows:

  • First Loss:
    • 5-Year Validity, 36 Pages:
      • Normal: PKR 9,000
      • Urgent: PKR 15,000
    • 10-Year Validity, 36 Pages:
      • Normal: PKR 13,400
      • Urgent: PKR 22,400
  • Second Loss:
    • 5-Year Validity, 36 Pages:
      • Normal: PKR 18,000
      • Urgent: PKR 30,000
    • 10-Year Validity, 36 Pages:
      • Normal: PKR 26,800
      • Urgent: PKR 44,800
  • Third Loss and Beyond:
    • 5-Year Validity, 36 Pages:
      • Normal: PKR 36,000
      • Urgent: PKR 60,000
    • 10-Year Validity, 36 Pages:
      • Normal: PKR 53,600
      • Urgent: PKR 89,300

E-Passport Fees:

Pakistan has introduced e-passports with enhanced security features. The fee structure for e-passports is as follows:

  • 5-Year Validity, 36 Pages:
    • Normal: PKR 9,000
    • Urgent: PKR 15,000
  • 10-Year Validity, 36 Pages:
    • Normal: PKR 13,500
    • Urgent: PKR 22,500

Note: These rates aren’t reflective of taxes.

Important Considerations:

  • Processing Times: Normal processing typically takes 10-15 working days, while urgent processing is completed within 5-7 working days.
  • Executive Passport Offices (EPOs): For expedited services, EPOs charge an additional fee. For instance, the DHA Lahore EPO adds PKR 3,000 to the standard passport fee.
  • Official Updates: For the most accurate and up-to-date information, refer to the official DGIP website or authorized government channels.
