Man killed by metro bus in Islamabad

A security official was crushed to death by a metro bus at Islamabad’s Shaheed-e-Millat Metro Bus Station on Monday morning.

A tragic incident occurred in the federal capital where a security officer, identified as Muhammad Waseem, lost his life after being hit by a bus while on duty at his assigned post. According to initial reports, Waseem was performing his routine security responsibilities when a speeding bus struck him, causing serious injuries. The incident took place in an area under high security surveillance, yet the accident raised questions about traffic safety near sensitive duty zones.

Rescue teams immediately reached the scene and shifted the body to PIMS Hospital for medico-legal formalities. Police have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the accident and whether the driver showed negligence. Authorities are currently gathering eyewitness accounts and CCTV footage to confirm how the accident occurred. The bus driver is said to have fled the scene, but police are actively searching for the suspect.

Muhammad Waseem was known for his dedication and commitment to duty. The tragic loss has left his colleagues and family in deep sorrow. Officials from the relevant department have extended condolences and assured full cooperation in the investigation process. This unfortunate event has once again highlighted the urgent need for strict enforcement of traffic laws, especially in areas where security personnel are deployed. The public has also urged authorities to ensure safer working conditions for those serving in critical roles across the city.
