Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has directed the authorities to immediately release the second installment of the provincial housing scheme.
The instruction aims to ensure that citizens selected through last year’s balloting can continue building their homes without delay. Officials briefed the meeting that construction work on nearly seven hundred houses is progressing daily across Punjab. During the session, the administration also presented details of construction and repair projects worth 204 billion rupees in fifty-two cities.
These projects include major urban upgrades, road improvements, and essential infrastructure works. The chief minister has ordered that all these initiatives must begin by February 22, ensuring the province meets its development timelines. Moreover, the meeting reviewed the ongoing Lahore Development Project. Maryam Nawaz instructed officials to complete the first phase without further delays and to finish the second phase by April 30. She emphasized that faster execution of city development plans is crucial for improving urban facilities and easing public hardships.
To strengthen transparency and accountability, the chief minister also ordered the creation of a live monitoring dashboard. This digital system will track the real-time progress of all major development projects underway in Punjab. According to officials, the dashboard will help identify bottlenecks early and allow timely decision-making.
With these directives, the Punjab government aims to accelerate both housing and infrastructure development across the province. The new measures are expected to support thousands of families, improve urban planning, and ensure that provincial initiatives are completed within set deadlines.
