The upper and central regions of the country are likely to see rain, wind, and thunderstorms in the coming days.
A well-marked low-pressure system over the Gulf of Kutch is pushing moist currents into Sindh, while currents from the Bay of Bengal are likely to reach Punjab tonight. These systems will strengthen between 4 and 6 October, and a new Western Disturbance entering tonight is expected to intensify from 3 October to 7 October, bringing widespread rain across the country.
Punjab and Islamabad will see rain, windstorms, and thunderstorms in Rawalpindi, Murree, Gujranwala, Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan, Bahawalpur, and other cities from 4 to 6 October. Heavy falls and hailstorms are also expected. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, extensive rains are predicted between 2 and 7 October in Peshawar, Mardan, Swat, Abbottabad, Kohat, Bannu, and Dera Ismail Khan. Scattered heavy showers and hailstorms may also hit the region.
Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan will experience scattered rain on 2 and 3 October, followed by large-scale heavy falls and hailstorms from 4 to 7 October in Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, Skardu, Hunza, Gilgit, and nearby valleys. Sindh is likely to receive rain and thunderstorms in Karachi, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Tharparkar, Thatta, and Badin from tonight until 3 October.
Balochistan will also face rain and thunderstorms in Quetta, Zhob, Naseerabad, and Dera Bugti from 4 to 6 October. Authorities have advised residents in flood-prone and hilly areas to remain alert as the upcoming wet spell may trigger urban flooding, landslides, and traffic disruptions.
