Met Office predicts more rain in Islamabad

Rain pours intermittently in Islamabad since late night, bringing thundershowers and hail today.

Cool evening showers drop morning temperatures to 23 degrees Celsius. Daytime heat climbs to 36 degrees Celsius, while winds gust at 12 kilometers per hour. The NDMA issues a strong alert for rain and hail from April 18 to 23. Snowfall hits high areas in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Upper and central Punjab faces rain and hail on April 18 and 19.

Southern Punjab sees light rain at scattered spots until April 23. Coastal belts like Gwadar expect rain on April 19, 20, and 23. Sindh districts including Khairpur, Sukkur, Hyderabad, Umarkot, Mithi, Badin, and Karachi prepare for showers on April 19 and 20. Daytime temperatures stay above normal across many Sindh areas.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa districts such as Chitral, Dir, Malakand, Charsadda, Abbottabad, Bannu, Buner, Peshawar, and others gear up for rain. Snow blankets upper mountains in some spots.

NDMA warns that heavy downpours may topple weak buildings, uproot trees, and damage power lines. Slippery roads disrupt traffic flow. Earlier forecasts predict intense rain from April 16 to 18, raising landslide risks in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan. Local rivers swell with fast-rising water.

The Meteorological Department says rains persist for two to three days, continuing in Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Stay alert, secure loose items, and avoid flood-prone zones. Authorities urge people to check updates and drive carefully.
